Dear Friend:
This is an exciting and strategic moment for Catholic education in the Rio Grande Valley as we strive to build a much-needed high school to serve students from Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy counties. Plans for San Juan Diego Catholic Regional High School continue to move ahead swiftly as we prepare to open next fall.
Many friends and believers in Catholic education have helped us get close to realizing the dream of a new Catholic High School in the upper Rio Grande Valley. We have the land, preliminary building plans, the support of three religious orders, committed volunteers, and the school leadership in place.
As we conclude our initial Capital Campaign, I am pleased to note that we raised more than $2.6 million from our community. However, we must continue to raise funds to ensure the success of our school.
I am hopeful that you will consider donating a gift -- which can be paid in monthly, quarterly or annual installments stretched over five or more years. Please give me a call or e-mail and I will be happy to forward information to you. A $1,000 pledge, paid over 5 years, is under $17 a month, which many of our supporters have found to be reasonable, even in this tough economic time. With your leadership, and the support of others committed to Catholic secondary education, I am confident that we can achieve our dream.
Sincerely in Christ,
Julia Benitez Sullivan
